day 1:
Departure from Prague with a transfer in New York. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. If time permits, an optional visit to one of the interesting sites. Overnight stay.
day 2:
After breakfast, we depart for a cruise to Liberty Island to see the world-famous Statue of Liberty by architect Bartholdi. The statue was unveiled in 1886 and has since become the most iconic American symbol. We continue to Ellis Island with its immigration museum, a symbolic milestone for millions of immigrants, tracing history from 1500 to the present day. Then, on dry land—or by subway—we take a walk through Lower Manhattan and its most famous spots. The financial district Wall Street with its influential stock exchange and the Charging Bull symbol, the neo-Gothic church with its cemetery Trinity Church surrounded by a wall of skyscrapers, memorials at the site of the former Twin Towers, the bustling Chinatown, and the elegant Italian neighborhood SoHo (South of Houston), which is the largest cast-iron facade district in the world. We reach the Empire State Building, standing 381 meters tall, and enjoy the slowly lighting city at dusk (ticket not included, approx. 90 USD). Free time at the world's busiest place—Times Square—where neon screens with advertisements shine day and night, and iconic yellow taxis run nonstop. Return to the hotel, overnight stay.
day 3:
After breakfast, a tour of the areas around Central Park, the green heart of Manhattan and one of the most famous urban parks in the world. It’s a place where New Yorkers and tourists alike come to escape the city's hustle and bustle, and you can enjoy your morning coffee here as well. Highlights include the beautiful Bethesda Terrace & Fountain staircase and fountain, or the romantic cast-iron Bow Bridge with views you might recognize from movies. We’ll walk past the Plaza Hotel, synonymous with luxury and elegance, opened on October 1, 1907, in the style of a French chateau, using the most luxurious materials of its time (crystal chandeliers, gilded porcelain, etc.). The hotel became a city icon, hosting world leaders and celebrities and serving as the setting for many films. We’ll stroll along the famous Fifth Avenue, literally the backbone of Manhattan, full of iconic spots: St. Patrick’s Cathedral – a neo-Gothic cathedral right across from Rockefeller Center, New York Public Library – the famous library with lions at the entrance and a stunning interior, and the architecturally striking Trump Tower. Fifth Avenue is simply where history, culture, and luxury meet. Transfer to another city landmark, the Brooklyn Bridge – a technical marvel, historic monument, and a popular spot for walks and photos. It was the first suspension bridge with steel cables, opened in 1883, and was the longest in the world at the time. It connects Manhattan and Brooklyn over the East River and is about 1.8 km long. Return to the hotel, overnight stay.
day 4:
Early morning departure to Washington D.C. – the capital of the United States, full of monuments, history, political life, as well as art, culture, and beautiful architecture. Upon arrival, a walking tour of the city's most famous attractions begins at the Arlington National Cemetery, one of the most sacred sites in the country and a symbol of American history. The Washington Monument – a tall obelisk visible from all over the city, the White House – the residence of the American president, the Senate and Congress building Capitol with its iconic white dome, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials. Departure back to New York, arriving late at night. Overnight stay.
day 5:
After breakfast, enjoy a free day in the city. We recommend visiting the MoMA (modern art) or the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), or indulging in a culinary experience like New York-style pizza, a bagel with cream cheese, or a hearty steak. You’ll definitely have time for a proper espresso or an iced coffee New York-style, as New Yorkers are masters of quick coffee to go.
