day 1
Departure in the evening hours by direct sleeper train from Prague to Switzerland.
2nd day
Breakfast on the train. After arriving in Switzerland, we continue from Sargans to Landquart and with the red carriages of the narrow-gauge adhesion railway Rhaetian Railway to Sagliains and further through the most beautiful valley of eastern Switzerland, Engadin, to the world-famous winter sports resort that hosted the Winter Olympics, St. Moritz. Here we can take an interesting walk or stroll through the streets of this fashionable town. We continue on the Albula line, where the train overcomes the elevation difference using generously planned spiral tunnels and viaducts, and further through the Valley of Castles, we reach Reichenau Tamins at the confluence of the Upper and Lower Rhine. Next, the red and white carriages of the cogwheel narrow-gauge railway Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn will take us over Oberalppass to the heart of the Alpine fortress city of Andermatt. We will descend to the mouth of the Gotthard Tunnel and the accommodation area in Altdorf. Dinner, overnight stay.
3rd day
After breakfast to Lucerne. Then by express from Lucerne to Interlaken, along a panoramic route, through the snowy Brünig Pass, a diverse landscape of mountains and lakes. A cogwheel train ride to Lauterbrunnen the newest and steepest cable car in the world (160 %) via Mürren to visit Schilthorn – Piz Gloria (2970 m above sea level) one of the peaks of the Bernese Alps foothills, with a panoramic restaurant offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks (Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau) and the Piz Gloria View observation platform. Opportunity to visit the exhibition dedicated to the filming of the Bond movie 'In the Service of Her Majesty'. Return to accommodation. Dinner. Overnight.
day 4
After breakfast, we will travel on the Gotthard Railway, a system of winding tunnels, ramps, and viaducts, ascending to the northern portal of the fifteen-kilometer-long Gotthard Tunnel, which runs beneath the eponymous Alpine pass and has been connecting the northern and southern sides of the Alps since 1882. Descending through the mountainous landscape of the canton of Ticino, we will pass through the city of the three castles, Bellinzona, and reach Locarno, a city on Lago Maggiore, which is also called the Swiss Monte Carlo due to its unique atmosphere. There is an option to take a cable car to the pilgrimage church of Madonna del Sasso, where the famous Bramante painting The Flight into Egypt is located. On the way back, we will pass through the longest railway tunnel in the world, the 57-kilometer-long Gotthard Base Tunnel. The total travel time in the tunnel is 20 minutes. We will return to the accommodation. Dinner, overnight stay.
day 5
After breakfast, we will depart for Lucerne, leaving our luggage in storage. Transfer by local transport to Kriens and ascent to the famous Pilatus. Return to Lucerne. Free program in one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland with the famous Chapel Bridge. Opportunity to visit the largest transport museum in the world, which boasts a wonderful collection of famous Swiss locomotives and a number of other interesting exhibits from the realm of transport. Music lovers will certainly not miss the chance to visit the Richard Wagner Museum, where a number of original scores of his famous operas are kept. In the late afternoon, we continue to Zurich, from where a direct sleeper train will take us back to the Czech Republic.
