Arrival in Zurich, from where we continue to Lucerne, a city with a chapel bridge, which is the most photographed bridge structure in Switzerland. After breakfast, we will travel on the Gotthard Railway, climbing to the northern portal of the fifteen-kilometer-long Gotthard Tunnel, which runs under the eponymous alpine pass and has been a link between the northern and southern sides of the Alps since 1882. Descending through the mountain landscape in the canton of Ticino, passing through the city of the three castles Bellinzona, we will reach Locarno, a city on Lake Maggiore, which is also called the Swiss Monte Carlo due to its unique atmosphere. There is an option to take a cable car to the pilgrimage church Madonna del Sasso, where the famous Bramante's painting Flight into Egypt is located.
