Departure from the Czech Republic in the afternoon, traveling through Austria to Italy.
day 2
Arrival in Rome early in the morning, a city built on seven hills, famous worldwide for its monuments from antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Baroque period. City tour with a local guide – Ancient and Baroque Rome – including the largest amphitheater, the Colosseum, one of the most famous architectural masterpieces in the world and a symbol of the city, the Forum Romanum, ruins of magnificent ancient buildings originally used for gatherings, trade, and judiciary, the Capitoline Hill, the most historically significant of Rome’s seven hills, the political and religious center of antiquity, home to the Basilica of S. Maria in Aracoeli with its steep staircase and the Capitoline Museums, the Piazza di Spagna and the famous Roman Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the best-known Roman fountain depicting the ocean kingdom of Neptune, god of the seas, with two horses, tritons, and shells, and more. Free time followed by departure to accommodation near the city.
day 3
After breakfast, papal Rome - Vatican, the world's smallest state with its own postal service, magazines and newspapers, radio station, train station, flag, and the papal guard made up of Swiss Guards, etc.; the globally famous St. Peter's Square with its semicircular colonnades and an Egyptian obelisk in the center. Rising above the square is the most renowned Christian sanctuary, the St. Peter's Basilica, dedicated to the Apostle Peter, the first Bishop of Rome. Optionally, you can visit the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel, including ticket reservation, or enjoy free time to explore the Christmas markets held in several locations. The illuminated streets, contrasting with ancient monuments, stalls offering many Italian delicacies and gifts, create an unforgettable Christmas atmosphere. Famous markets include those at Piazza Navona, featuring a historic carousel, a rich Christmas program, stalls with holiday decorations, roasted chestnuts, and a Christmas tree that make you feel like you're in a fairy tale. Additionally, here you can see one of the city's most beautiful fountains by Bernini - the Fontana Dei Quattro Fiumi, as well as the Church of St. Agnes, Palazzo Pamphili, and the site of the former Domitian's Stadium. Return to the hotel.
day 4
After breakfast, free time to finish exploring Rome on your own, with opportunities for shopping, sightseeing, visiting museums, optional tickets available for the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, or time to relax before the journey. Individual return to the bus and departure back to the Czech Republic in the evening.
