day 1
Departure from Prague and arrival at Keflavík International Airport. After landing, we will transfer inland to Iceland, where our adventure along the so-called **Golden Circle** begins – one of Iceland's most famous routes, combining natural beauty with history. The first stop will be **Þingvellir National Park**, which is not only a significant historical site where the world's first democratic parliament was established in 930, but also a geological wonder – here the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are drifting apart. You will walk through a landscape full of lava fields, fissures, and turquoise lakes. Then we will head to the monumental **Gullfoss waterfall**, whose two-tiered cascade plunges into a deep canyon and takes your breath away – in good weather, a rainbow spectrum can often be seen over the Hvítá river. Next is a visit to the **Geysir geothermal area**, home to the famous **Strokkur geyser**, which erupts boiling water up to 30 meters high at regular intervals. You will hear hissing, bubbling, and sudden bursts of steam – a fascinating natural spectacle. The day will end with relaxation in the cozy outdoor thermal baths of the **Secret Lagoon** in the village of Flúðir, where you can unwind in warm water surrounded by nature. Accommodation and overnight stay in the Selfoss area.
day 2
After breakfast, we continue exploring southern Iceland, a land of contrasts—from dramatic waterfalls to glacial plains.
We will stop at the picturesque **Seljalandsfoss waterfall**, which plunges 60 meters into a pool below.
Next, we head to the **Kirkjubæjarklaustur** area (often called Klaustur), a village surrounded by lava fields and historic sites. From there, we continue to the **Vatnajökull National Park** area, where we will see the lesser-known but equally impressive **Svörtufossar waterfall**, framed by basalt columns resembling organ pipes.
In the afternoon, we arrive at one of the highlights of the entire trip—the **Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon**. Here, huge chunks of ice break off from the Vatnajökull glacier and float peacefully across the lagoon toward the ocean. The ice displays various shades of blue and white, and seals can often be seen resting on the ice floes.
Accommodation and overnight stay near the Jökulsárlón lagoon.
day 3
After breakfast, we say goodbye to the glacial landscape and head back west, with more breathtaking sights awaiting us along the way. We'll stop at the **Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon**, whose winding walls resemble a fantasy landscape. The canyon is about 100 meters deep and is a favorite spot for photographers from around the world. Next, we'll visit the famous **black beach Reynisfjara** near the town of Vík. This dramatic beach with fine black sand is lined with basalt columns, sea stacks, and often strong surf – its atmosphere is raw but stunning. Our next stop is the majestic **Skógafoss waterfall**, which plunges from a height of 60 meters and can be heard from afar. In good light, a beautiful rainbow forms in front of it. Before arriving in the capital, we'll also stop at the **volcanic crater Kerið**, whose turquoise water and red volcanic walls create a colorful contrast typical of Icelandic scenery. In the evening, we arrive in Reykjavik, where we will stay overnight.
day 4
This day is dedicated to free time in the capital city of Reykjavík, which offers a vibrant mix of culture, architecture, and modern Nordic life. For those interested, optional excursions are available – for example, whale watching or enjoying a final relaxation at one of the renowned thermal spas – Blue Lagoon or the elegant Sky Lagoon, both offering stunning views of the Atlantic. In the afternoon, we will transfer back to Keflavík airport for the flight back to Prague.
