day 1
Departure from Prague to Athens, upon arrival transfer from the airport to the hotel, accommodation at the hotel, free time, overnight stay.
day 2
After breakfast at the hotel, take a walk through one of Europe's most fascinating capitals. Explore Athens' most famous buildings – the Parthenon, Erechtheion – the temple dedicated to Poseidon and Athena, the Temple of Nike Apteros, the Pinakotheke, and the Propylaea – the grand entrance gate. The route continues through the Agora – the marketplace of ancient Athens, to the Plaka district – charmingly located beneath the Acropolis, known for its quirky buildings and winding streets full of atmospheric taverns, nightclubs, and shops. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
day 3
After breakfast, free time for individual activities in the city, shopping, visiting museums, etc., or the option to join interesting full-day optional excursions:
Argolida Excursion: Mycenae (the center of Mycenaean civilization, including a tour of the famous Lion Gate, the circular tombs of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon, the Treasury of Atreus, and the museum), Nafplio (the first capital of independent Greece, guarded by the fortresses of Akronafplia and Palamidi from the south, and Bourtzi on a small islet off the coast; known as the most elegant town on mainland Greece with its typical narrow streets lined with shops, marble-paved squares, and a picturesque waterfront promenade), and Epidaurus (one of the most renowned sites of ancient Greece, home to the best-preserved ancient Greek theater in the world, famous for its exceptional acoustics, and the sacred sanctuary of Asclepius, the god of medicine).
Excursion to the Corinth Wine Region and Visit to Nafplio: The Corinth region is a significant area for Greek winemaking. The Agiorgitiko grape variety from Nemea is cultivated here, along with the famous Corinthian raisins. The first stop is at two wineries in Nemea, where you can taste Agiorgitiko wine and other international varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. The second stop is Nafplio, the first metropolis of modern Greece, known for its Venetian architecture and historical landmarks. The visit includes the Palamidi fortress, Akronafplia with views of the Bourtzi islet, and a stroll through Syntagma Square with the former parliament building. There is an option for lunch at a local restaurant (optional).
Excursion to Cape Sounion with Dinner, Folklore Show, and Live Music: A stunning journey from Athens along the Saronic Gulf through the Athens Riviera area to Cape Sounion. This cape is the first place mentioned by Pausanias (an ancient author and 2nd-century AD travel writer) as the 'sacred promontory of the Athenians.' According to mythology, Poseidon had his palace in the depths of the sea here and his temple on the wind-swept cliff towering above the Aegean Sea. The location of Cape Sounion also had strategic importance in ancient times, which is why the Athenians established a small naval base and fortress here to protect ships transporting grain to Piraeus. The site offers one of the most beautiful views of the sunset. The excursion concludes with dinner at a traditional local taverna featuring live music and a dance show.
In the evening, return to the hotel, free time with the option to celebrate the New Year, overnight stay.
day 4
Breakfast at the hotel, free time to explore the city on your own, followed by a transfer from the hotel to the airport according to the flight schedule, departure to Prague.
