Prague - the city of a hundred spires, a capital with breathtaking history, charming alleys, galleries, restaurants, and the majestic Prague Castle. During the Advent season, it truly becomes magical, and the Christmas markets attract travelers from all over the world every year.
day 1:
Departure in the early morning hours to the capital of the Czech Republic. Arrival in Prague, city tour. We will start at the Powder Tower, the gateway to the Old Town, standing 65 meters tall and adorned with statues of Czech kings, patrons, and saints. We will walk to the Old Town Square, where the Old Town Hall proudly displays the astronomical clock since 1410. Be sure to wait for the full hour when the clock chimes and the so-called clock procession of apostle figurines appears. Another significant building on the square is the Gothic Church of Our Lady before Týn, standing 80 meters tall, the 18th-century St. Nicholas Church with its richly decorated interior, and the monument to Master Jan Hus. We continue towards Malá Strana, connected to the Old Town by the Charles Bridge. The bridge was built on the site of the original wooden Judith Bridge; its foundation stone was laid by Charles IV, and construction took 45 years. We will walk to Malostranské náměstí, part of the Royal Route – originally a marketplace, later home to important regional offices, and even the route for coronation processions. We will reach Prague Castle, which covers nearly 70,000 square meters and is the largest castle complex in the world. It also includes the largest church in Prague – the St. Vitus Cathedral. The Golden Lane was established in the 15th century. This lane with its colorful houses is surrounded by many legends that have always attracted artists and writers. Franz Kafka even lived in one of the houses. Afterwards, there will be free time for individual visits to the Christmas markets. The Christmas markets at Old Town Square are among the most beautiful in Europe and are annually praised by tourists from around the world. They are the largest in Prague and also feature the biggest Christmas tree. The wooden stalls offer a wide variety of treats and drinks, and the accompanying program is also rich. Departure back to Slovakia, arrival late at night depending on the chosen stop.
