In Zanzibar, local authorities plan to introduce mandatory travel insurance for all foreign tourists starting from October 1, 2024. You can apply and pay approximately 44 USD per person through the official website www.visitzanzibar.go.tz and present it at check-in or upon arrival at the destination. However, this insurance does not replace quality travel insurance, which we recommend obtaining in the Czech Republic/Slovakia and which has sufficient coverage not only for medical treatment or hospitalization but also possibly for repatriation back home. Czech/Slovak insurance companies cooperate with verified healthcare facilities, mostly private clinics. At the same time, only with products purchased domestically can you insure trip cancellation, liability, or luggage. Applications for tourist visas online or on-site upon arrival remain valid.
